T-Bill Ladder Builder
Split principal across T-bill tenors and see each rung’s face amount, approximate interest, and maturity spacing. Formula disclosed.
One-sentence answer: This calculator uses only the inputs you provide and the formulas printed on this page; it is an educational estimate, not personalized advice, and results change when dated defaults change.
Formula
Each rung face = principal / n. Estimated interest for a rung ≈ face × (yield/100) × (tenor_days/365). Tenors cycle through 28, 56, 91, 182, 364 days for up to five rungs (repeating the long end if n=6).
Worked example
$50,000 across 5 rungs → $10,000 each. At 3.9% investment yield, a 91-day rung earns about $10,000 × 0.039 × 91/365 ≈ $97 before federal tax.
